Selena Gomez lahir di Grand Prairie, Texas pada 22 Juli 1992. Dia anak tunggal dari Ricardo Gomez dan Mandy Cornett, karena pada usia 6 tahun kedua orangtuanya bercerai. Selena adalah teman baik Demi Lovato dan Taylor Swift. Saat ini Selena menjadi artis Disney dan penyanyi. Dia berperan sebagai Alex Russo di serial TV Disney Channel Wizards of Waverly Place. Sebagai penyanyi, Selena sudah mengeluarkan 2 buah album, yaitu Kiss and Tell (2009) dan A Year Without Rain (2010). Sebelum menjalani peran sebagai Alex Russo, Selena mengaku tidak pernah tertarik pada film-film magical seperti Harry Potter. Pelajaran favoritnya di sekolah adalah Science, dan olahraga favoritnya adalah Basketball.
